WHAT IS AN LTC?
To obtain a concealed handgun license in the State of Texas, individuals are required to complete a comprehensive Concealed Handgun License Certification Course, which adheres to guidelines set forth by the State Department of Public Safety. This course encompasses the following key topics:
The Use of Force
Gun Safety
Gun Storage
Dispute Resolution
Even if you do not regularly carry a handgun, the information acquired in the course is highly valuable for individuals who possess firearms. If you intend to store a handgun in your residence, vehicle, or recreational vehicle (RV), it is imperative to be well-informed and knowledgeable about the applicable laws.
The process of securing a concealed handgun permit in Texas entails fulfilling several additional requirements. These include successfully completing the Certification Course, passing a shooting proficiency test at an approved range, and passing a 25-question written examination. Applicants must also submit an application to the state authorities, accompanied by the requisite fee. The state conducts a thorough background check as part of the application review process and ultimately issues the concealed handgun license.
It is important to note that individuals seeking this license will need to demonstrate their proficiency with a handgun during the process. To facilitate this, please bring your UNLOADED handgun and UNLOADED magazine in a secure bag or case. For classes, bring your firearm with you, as we will conduct the shooting portion at the beginning.
Additionally, ensure you have a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition, preferably new and from a reputable manufacturer (no reloads). Finally, for your safety, don't forget to bring your own eye and ear protection. In case you don't have your own, we offer sets for purchase at the range for a nominal fee.

Bob is an attentive and seasoned instructor. His teaching style worked well for me as I was able to quickly change the accuracy of my shot with only a couple tips from Bob! I was amazed hitting the bullseye in the first shot after his instruction. I highly recommend Bob and I look forward to being on the range with him again!
